Frequently Asked Questions
Who is an executor, and who should I appoint?
An executor is the person named in your will who is responsible for carrying out your instructions after your death. They handle the administration of your estate — settling debts and distributing assets to beneficiaries. It is advisable to appoint an executor who is at least 21 years old, based in the UAE, and someone you trust completely. You should also name backup executors in case your primary choice is unavailable.
