What are the documents required to apply for residence for my parents-in-law under the Dubai Golden Visa?
Sponsoring parents-in-law is categorized as a "Humanitarian Case." While typically restricted for standard visa holders, Golden Visa holders can sponsor their parents-in-law for a 10-year residency (matching the sponsor's tenure) by providing the following:
Sponsor’s Documents
- Passport & Visa: Clear color copies of the sponsor’s passport and Golden/Retirement/Investor Visa.
- Title Deed/Ejari: A copy of the sponsor’s Title Deed or an attested Tenancy Contract.
- Bank Statement: Last 3 months of bank statements showing financial stability.
Parents-in-Law's Documents
- Passport: Color copies valid for at least six months.
- Digital Photo: High-quality photo meeting the latest ICP specifications.
- National ID: Mandatory for applicants from Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan.
- Relationship Proof: Both must be attested by the UAE Embassy in the country of issue and MOFA in the UAE, with legal Arabic translations:
- Legalized Marriage Certificate of the sponsor (to link to the spouse).
- Legalized Birth Certificate of the spouse (to link to the parents-in-law).
Important Requirements & Fees
- Affidavit of Dependency: A letter from the sponsor’s consulate (attested by MOFA) confirming responsibility for their care.
- Humanitarian Approval: The application is submitted via the GDRFA Humanitarian Cases Department.
- Bank Guarantee: A refundable deposit of AED 5,000 per parent-in-law is required.
- Total Processing Fees: Approximately AED 8,832.25 (including DLD Cube service fees and the bank guarantee).
- Medical Insurance: Mandatory. For seniors, comprehensive plans are recommended due to age-related coverage needs.
