Frequently Asked Questions

What are the eligibility requirements to sponsor my parents under the Dubai Golden Visa?

To sponsor your parents in Dubai, you must provide proof of relationship and financial dependency. The requirements vary slightly based on your visa type:

  • Relationship Proof: You must provide your original birth certificate, fully legalized (Origin MOFA → UAE Embassy → UAE MOFA → Legal Arabic Translation).
  • Dependency Proof: An Affidavit of Dependency (Dependency Certificate) must be obtained from your consulate, attested by MOFA, and translated into Arabic. This confirms you are responsible for their well-being.
  • Joint Sponsorship: Generally, both parents must be sponsored together. If sponsoring only one parent, you must provide a legalized death certificate, divorce decree, or medical proof of the other parent's inability to travel, all duly attested.
  • Golden Visa holders (10-Year): Your parents are eligible for a 10-year residence visa matching your tenure.
  • Retirement Visa holders (5-Year): Parents typically receive a 5-year visa.
  • Investor Visa holders (2-Year): Parents are usually issued a 1-year renewable visa.
  • Accommodation: You must provide an Ejari or Title Deed showing accommodation suitable for the number of family members.
